Eight Hours – One-Day Class - Onsite at the Center for Personal & Relationship Growth

Understanding Anger:
Learn (A) Abstain Skills - behaviors to be abstained from when feeling angry
Learn (B) Believe Skills - increase optimism, positive self-talk and attitude
Learn (C) Communication Skills
This class is based on the Anger Resolution Therapy developed by Newton Hightower (Anger Busting 101). All instructors at the Center for Personal & Relationship Growth have been trained and certified to teach these principles by Newton Hightower and issued certification through his program in Houston, TX. Designation is Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. This curriculum was developed and is overseen by Tracey D. Understanding Anger:
- Learn basic conflict responses and how they relate the physiology of the brain.
- Identify anger as a secondary emotion and its relationship to primary emotions
- Identify when anger is a good response
- Learn physiological effects of anger and resultant changes in behavior
- Lean the addictive characteristics of anger
- Learn how to rate your anger and progress
- Learn principles of diffusing anger by managing stress
Learn (A) Abstain Skills - behaviors to be abstained from when feeling angry
- Master list of 15 banned behaviors when feeling angry
- Learn how to improve impulse control
- Identify skills in stress management to better cope with challenges and conflicts
Learn (B) Believe Skills - increase optimism, positive self-talk and attitude
- Learn to identify anger triggers
- Learn to identify and correct deficient Inner Dialogue Voice (IDV) responses
- Cognitive distortions and Changing thinking
- Learn how to improve key principles of empathy, understanding, humility and forgiveness
- Identify proper/improper taking control of anger situations vs. blame
Learn (C) Communication Skills
- Identify communication skills in order to appropriately understand feelings and needs
- Learn to change criticisms into proper complaints
- Learn techniques for correct, assertive means of communicating feelings and needs
- Identify skills in forgiveness to more accurately assess and manage expectations
- Identify skills and techniques for identifying and correcting proper anger response deviations
